Prof. Keiichi Tokuda awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon for Spring 2020

On April 29th, 2020, the Japanese government announced that Prof. Keiichi Tokuda, the Director of FRIIS and a Professor of Department of Computer Science at NITech, will be awarded the Medal of Honor (褒章, hōshō) with Purple Ribbon, along with 19 other individuals. First awarded in 1955, the Medal with Purple Ribbon biannually recognizes the individuals who have contributed to academic and artistic developments, improvements and accomplishments.

Prof. Tokuda focuses on the research in Speech recognition, Multimedia Signal Processing and Speech synthesis . His research work was recognized by a IEE Fellow (2014), ISCA Medal for Scientific Achievement (2019), and other Japanese and international awards.
